From an Idea to Children’s Season 2026: Our Journey with the Children’s Panel

We are incredibly honoured to be part of Children’s Season 2026, a nationwide festival by Children's Museum Singapore celebrating play, creativity, sustainability and family experiences across museums and institutions in Singapore.

This year’s festival is especially meaningful to us because the journey began not with adults, but with children themselves.

One of the most unique parts of Children’s Season 2026 was the Children’s Panel, a group of 25 students from Huamin Primary School who helped shape the festival experience alongside the organisers and creatives.

Before being selected as one of the Signature Programmes, our show was first presented and evaluated by the children’s panel. They shared honest feedback, voted for the concepts they connected with most, and helped determine which programmes would eventually become part of the festival.

For us, this process changed everything.

As creators, we often wonder:

  • What truly connects with children?

  • What keeps them engaged?

  • What feels meaningful without feeling preachy?

Working with the children’s panel gave us real answers.

The students shared incredibly thoughtful feedback about pacing, storytelling, interaction and what moments felt exciting or memorable to them. They openly told us what worked, what didn’t, and what they wanted more of. Surprisingly, it never felt like we were “working with children.” It genuinely felt like collaborating with fellow creatives and teammates who cared deeply about making the experience better.

Their ideas helped strengthen our Signature Programme:

An interactive edutainment experience where children and families become Earth Heroes through storytelling, movement, games and hands-on sustainability activities.

Beyond our own programme, Children’s Season 2026 is packed with meaningful experiences happening across Singapore. Families can look forward to:

What makes this festival special is that it is not simply “for children”, it is intentionally shaped with children. That spirit of collaboration, curiosity and imagination can truly be felt throughout the entire season.

We are proud to stand alongside so many like-minded creatives, educators, artists and organisations who believe in creating meaningful experiences for families through play and storytelling.
