Our First Weekend at LalooLalang: Rain, Resilience & Really Happy Kids

What a weekend it has been.

Our very first LalooLalang experience was everything we hoped for and honestly, so much more than we expected.

We came in excited (and maybe a little nervous), not knowing how things would unfold. But from the moment the first families arrived, something just clicked. The energy, the curiosity, the openness… it set the tone for the entire weekend.

Our Scoop & Shop completely sold out on the very first day. Watching children carefully pick, scoop, and proudly show off their little treasures was such a joy. It wasn’t just about the toys, it was about decision-making, independence, and that pure childhood excitement. Even the adults got involved (we saw you 👀), and that made it even more special.

Then came the rain.

Heavy, unexpected, and relentless.

At one point, our booth was flooded, and we had to quickly pack up and relocate everything - in the rain. It was messy, stressful, and definitely not part of the plan. But in that moment, something beautiful happened. The team came together, people helped, and we kept going.

And somehow, the spirit of LalooLalang didn’t dim at all.

If anything, it grew stronger.

Our interactive storytelling sessions continued, and seeing families sit together, fully engaged despite the weather, reminded us why we do this. The laughter, the participation, the little voices responding and reacting, it was magic in its own way.

One of the most heartwarming parts of the weekend was seeing families from all backgrounds come by. It didn’t matter whether they were familiar with the stories or not, everyone was welcomed, and everyone became part of the experience. That’s exactly the kind of space we hope to create: inclusive, joyful, and rooted in shared moments.

We’ve also received so much kind feedback from parents, from children, even from passersby who stopped just to watch. Every word means the world to us, especially as we continue building and growing Ms. Nat Learning Exploration.

To the LalooLalang team, thank you for trusting us and giving us this opportunity. It truly means a lot to be part of something that celebrates culture, creativity, and community in such a meaningful way.

And to every family who showed up, supported us, and played with us, THANK YOU. You made this weekend unforgettable.

We’re doing it all again this coming 1, 2 & 3 May, and we would love to see you there.

Come for the stories, stay for the play and maybe this time, we’ll beat the rain 😉
